Dr. Michael M. Moawad
Upon graduating from high school Dr. Mike received a citation from the office of the governor of New Jersey for his academic performance. He then attended Wagner College in Staten Island, NY on a merit scholarship where he received his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry with a minor in art. He graduated magna cum laude and received the prestigious Outstanding Senior Academic Achievement award. Dr. Mike completed post graduated level training in chemistry and was awarded membership to the American Chemical Society. Having a passion for science he worked as a research and development chemist in Colgate-Palmolive through his education as a part of a lengthy internship.
Dr. Mike was then accepted to multiple dental schools but chose to attend UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School, where he completed his doctorate in Dental Medicine. He was the secretary of the class and an active member in the student government. He was involved in many programs that educated Newark public school children about the importance of oral care and health, and provided free dental care to them through Give Kids a Smile® program.
Wanting to advance his dental education Dr. Mike completed an optional year of residency at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch NJ. He worked and trained with many specialists including; Oral surgeons, endodontists (root canal specialists), prosthodontist, oral maxillofacial pain specialist, pediatric dentists, orthodontist and cosmetic dentists. He is a certified provider of invisalign™; an innovative form of orthodontics involving nearly invisible aligners. He has a sedation permit from the New Jersey Board of Dentistry that he received after completing a rigorous sedation curriculum. He has completed the Botox® course provided by the Jersey Shore Medical center, one of three programs approved by the Board of dentistry. He then completed many associate positions where he gained more experience and confidence.
Dr. Mike combines the fundamental practice of dentistry with the newest improvements offered today. He stays current to new advancements by being a member of the American Dental Association, the New Jersey Dental Association, and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He is also an active member of his church and community where he tutors high school children chemistry and math. He is also involved in Coptic medical Association of North America, an association of medical doctors and dentists that provide free care to the poor of many third world countries like Bolivia, Egypt and Ethiopia.
In his free time Dr. Mike enjoys spending time with his wife Mary and their two children Matthew and Mikaela.
